How do I keep my sleeping bags clean?

Proper cleaning of sleeping bags is vital to extending its life. For one, you must know that it is never advisable to have your sleeping bag dry cleaned or washed in a regular washing machine. If you should wash it in a machine, use a huge-sized commercial washing machine that loads on the front and has a rotating drum action (never use top loading with agitator style). Wash with warm water and rinse with cold. Use only mild detergents without bleach. You can also hand wash it in a bathtub. Again, use only mild soap. Dry your bag thoroughly before storing.
