What do we use when cleaning stainless steel coolers?
There are two main reasons why we love stainless steel coolers. First, it is where we store the food or drinks needed to be frozen or cold. Second, it is portable. We can bring it with us anywhere! When the partying is over and cleaning up starts, we will find our cooler in a not so clean state. In our eagerness to bring back its sparkling look, we scrub as hard as we could. Do you know that this kind of scrubbing can cause the stainless cooler’s surface unwanted scratch marks or worse, dents? Yes, indeed. You do not want this to happen, do you?
The cooler’s interior and the exterior are what we usually clean. It looks gross or unsanitary if either of these is seen grimy. Here are some ways to maintain how your stainless cooler looks.
- You can use liquid or powder detergents when cleaning coolers. These help in maintaining its hygienic state and these prevent bacteria from populating inside. Just make sure it is not the toxic one because what you are basically putting into that are food and beverage.
- Do not use stainless steel scrubbers although you are scrubbing the stainless steel exterior of your cooler. You probably know how it produces scratch mark every time you apply effort while scrubbing. The effect does not look that pleasant, right? It makes it look worn-out.
- You can use sponge scrubbers. There are those which have green abrasive pad. These have medium duty scouring so there can be no harm on the surface.
- If you want to scrub the interior with a brush instead, take note of the level of dirt you will clean. You can use a brush that has finer or softer bristle for those slight marks of stain. There are brands in the market that has slightly firmer bristles, but not firm enough to destroy the surface.
- You can just clean or wash the cooler’s exterior with any powder or liquid detergent. Be reminded to wipe off the excess water from the surface after. You can use any soft cloth or cotton cloth when doing this. When the excess water is not wiped off, it will leave marks when it dries.
- Do you want to maintain its shiny appearance, just like brand new coleman steel coolers? You can use vinegar or ammonia. How can you use those? Just apply a small amount on a cloth and scrub it on the stainless steel exterior. Then polish dry with a towel or cloth.
These are really practical things you can do to clean your stainless steel cooler. If you want, there are also stainless steel cleaners or polishers available in the market. The decision is yours. Just as long as you achieve that squeaky clean look then it is fine. It is very prompting to use a clean and well maintained cooler. We feel protected from bacteria and other harmful elements.
